In Loving Memory of Robin Scott Stones
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robin, who died unexpectedly on February 23 due to an accidental overdose.
Robin was a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a coworker, and a friend. He had a rough, loud, tattooed exterior—and beneath it, one of the biggest hearts around. His humour, full of offside remarks and perfectly ill-timed jokes, was just one of the ways he made people feel seen and connected.
He cared deeply for those he loved. Even when interrupting you mid-sentence with a joke that made you roll your eyes, he was listening — really listening — and you always knew he had your back.
Robin had a soft spot for animals, especially the scruffy and overlooked ones. His favourite pastime was heading to the beach to “scritch” random dogs and soak in the sun and calm that only the ocean could offer.
He leaves behind his loving parents, his sister, his nephews and niece, a wide extended family of cousins, a work family and many close friends who will miss him immensely.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 24 at James Bay Community Centre in Victoria (140 Oswego St, Victoria) from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. All are welcome, and those who wish to speak or share memories are invited.
After 3:00 PM, we’ll head to Bent Mast Pub (512 Simcoe St, Victoria ) for food, drinks, and time to connect. For anyone interested or able, we’ll then make our way to Robin’s favourite beach at Dallas Road just East of Clover Point to sprinkle some of his ashes — a place where he found peace, joy and dogs to ‘scritch’.
Please feel free to attend any part of the day that feels right for you and invite others who know Robin. If you plan to come, reaching out to a family member or close friend would help us prepare for numbers.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robing’s honour can be made to the following services:

Robin — your offside humour, your heart, and your scrappy love will live on in all of us.
