Catherine WYLIE

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother Catherine Wylie. Mom was known for her generosity, never hesitating to lend a helping hand or to pull up an extra chair, the “more the merrier” was always her motto. Mom was a real force of nature, unrelenting in her pursuit of greatness in the boardroom. She paved the way when the internet first came onto the scene creating the first Canadian online shopping website back in 1998. She then moved into the charity space providing countless charities with the opportunity to move their fundraising online. She ran her companies for over 30 years, however, Mom liked to say her biggest accomplishment was us, her children Kyle (Ashley), Jennifer (Glen), Kaitlin (John), Wylie (Jesse) & Alana (Colin). She loved us fiercely and was always there when we needed her. She relished her role as Glamma, a term coined when her first grandson Ethan was born, she is the proud Grandma of 10 grandchildren. We will miss her. In lieu of flowers please make a donation on her behalf to either Family Services North Shore or Victoria Single Parent or Canucks Place

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend and colleague of more than two decades, Catherine Wylie. Catherine was a true visionary, leading the way in the ePhilanthropy movement and helping nonprofits navigate the digital world. She stepped in when I needed her expertise to bring international grantmaking to Canada, and she worked her magic with her sharp intellect and generous heart. Catherine was more than just a brilliant businesswoman; she was a trusted friend who made dreams a reality. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.

With deepest sympathy,

I worked with Catherine 2022 to 2024. She was an unstoppable positive force and a joy to work with. She had such a generous spirit and laughed easily. I’m so sad to learn of this news and my best wishes to her family and to everyone whose life she lit up.

I am deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Catherine’s passing. I didn’t know her well but we had an instant connection on a flight back from Orlando late 2018. We sat beside each other and drank and talked the whole way home, I felt like I had known her forever. She had wonderful stories to share. Her family meant everything to her, sewing doll clothes for her granddaughter, etc. We met up a few times in Vancouver, Gotham’s for her birthday lunch was a very memorable visit. We kept in touch via text, a few calls, that’s how I found out she had passed, she didn’t respond to the last messages I sent. She truly was a force! An amazing, caring, strong, compassionate woman. Sending love to her family. She was a friend. She will be missed. <3
