David CARTER

February 16, 1969 - June 1, 2025

David died peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital after a brief but valiant battle against liver disease.  David was predeceased by his father Reg Carter and sister Judy Bryan (Carter). He is survived by his mother Beverly Carter (Clem Poff);  his brother Doug Carter (Anita); brother-in-law Brad Bryan; nieces Laurie Bryan and Katie Honkanen (Jesse) and great niece Georgia.

David was born in Victoria and it remained his home his entire life where he attended Strawberry Vale, Colquitz and Spectrum Schools.  After high school David tried his hand at a variety of jobs in the construction industry, eventually finding his way to the concrete industry where he enjoyed a long career as a talented and sought after finisher. Strong willed and independent David made his way through life on his own terms and was never afraid to take the path less travelled. David overcame many obstacles during his life and the family is particularly proud of the strength of character and resilience he showed during his final months.

The one constant in David’s life was the love for his dogs.  He could be found almost daily at the Colwood Creek Dog Park.

The family also wants to acknowledge long time friends Scott Griffiths, Sean Middleton and Tom Adamcsak for their loyal support of David throughout his life’s journey.

Gone but not forgotten – rest in peace David.

No celebration of life by request.

Today a friend shared news of Dave’s passing in June. I am shocked and deeply saddened by this news.

I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

Dave was truly a wonderful person! I will always cherish the conversations we shared, and I know he will be dearly missed by many at the Colwood Creek dog park.

Once again, my deepest sympathies to all who knew this remarkable and kind man. RIP Dave.
